Huge academic fraud at UNC - very bad

3000+ students taking no show classes over two decades. No professor, only one term paper graded by a secretary.

Many athletes involved and most got A's and B's, a really ugly piece of news.

Of course it looks like just a few people in the African American Studies dept knew about this, no coaches knew (sure) and no upper management knew (sure).

Screw them if they lose their Bball natty champs if they cant have students actually take classes. Some of these classes at a lot of major universities are not that terribly hard to get a C or B

For the big boys in athletics it's all about winning. Look at all of the 1-and-done players today; the transfers; the 1-year transfers who go to another school to work on their Master's Degree? Uh, yeah, right. Unfortunately, today's college athletics is simply a business. Giant TV contracts; stadiums; glitz and glamor. I love college athletics but it is out of control.

If the coaches and admins want to plead ignorance in this whole mess, that's fine. But that alone is basically admitting to not giving a damn about the players' education, which is awful damning in and of itself. How many times do you hear a coach rail on about how important education is to these 'student-athletes', when in reality the coaches want to bury their heads in the sand? Sorry but I don't buy it.

I have a feeling their football program will be in trouble for a long time, there is countless proof against the past 2 coaches. It is still unclear what impact it had on the basketball program.
