Some thoughts:

- There seems to be a pessimism or malaise around Foster announcing on Monday. It seems like many feel like we don't get him. Based on getting to the NBA he should pick ISU based on the number of players they have in the NBA right now. If he just wants to be a Hawkeye he pick us and I know we all feel that way. We;re knocking on the door of getting guys into the league now and Fran will do everything in his power to get Xavier there.

- I do feel like the MBB is an NCAA tourney team. Joe W, CJ, Luka and Nunge will lead the way. There is a new sharpshooter in CHA and he goes by CJ. Joe W's pretty good, too. If JBo isn't 100% I hope he takes the time to heal properly. Anything less than the Dance will be a disappointment.

- Iowa vs Wisky - I'm pulling out a Haydenism for this one - Every Worm Turns - we're due and this team knows it. It will be a slugfest galore.

Let me begin with a favorite Pulp Fiction quote of mine. "Oh! Well, allow me to retort."

The Xavier Foster thing is interesting. I deleted all social media about a year ago and I'm really glad I did. I'm a much happier person now. I can only imagine the Twitter shit storm that will come once he makes his announcement. Grown adults are going to have a melt down, and unfortunately, there is nothing that is going to stop them from acting like ass-hats. I wish him well no matter where he goes.

I do not feel this is a NCAA tourney team at this point. But, like Rob said, my mind could easily change. Too many unknowns on this team right now. I can't wait to watch them tonight, though. Nothing like cheering for an undefeated team!

I've seen the "we're due" card played several times for this weekend's game vs wiscy. Well, the Washington Generals are due also. But somehow they keep losing to the Globe Trotters. :D

Peace Out & Hawks by a Million

Will the Foster family have to go into seclusion after the announcement no matter which way it goes?

It's a pretty unique situation.

There haven't been a lot of top instate prospects in the last few decades that have trimmed their list to Iowa and ISU before announcing.

It should be celebrated. Then again, it's 2019.

I’ll just be happy that he stays in-state. Would love to have him in the black and gold. I view in-state division 1 talent that were born and raised their entire lives in Iowa, and leave the state, as turncoats.

It is sad when grownups behave badly over a decision of an 18 year old who has no impact on their day-to-life.

Too many unknowns with this basketball team to make any predictions. I could see as high as a 6 or a 7 seed in the tournament or I could see no post season at all. The range is that wide. We all know what Iowa needs from Nunge and the rest of the new role players, what we don’t know and can’t predict is if they actually get it.

During the first half of SIUE when we were clanking all those 3s, I felt like I wanted to retract my this is a tourney team statement. But they picked it up a bit in the 2nd half so I'll stick with it for now. First game jitters, eh?

Yea I think foster is a good kid from a good family I went to school and played some basketball with his grandfather Mark at South Tama and was also at Iowa when he played there. Good guy Still around the Tama area. I do wonder a bit why Foster is still attending games at both schools this late in the process. Seems to fuel speculation from all the posters on social media. Maybe just a kid enjoying the hoopla a bit as I would guess he knows where he is going?
Have to agree that Iowa is not a tournament team and probably 7-10 finish in the Big Ten. Not going to be a real exciting team to watch as we lack athletes. Can't get excited for the future of Iowa basketball but that isn"t new
I still think we need to win 13-10 at Wisconsin.
Some have posted we need to score at least 24. Maybe with a couple pick 6s.

I think XF is just trying to make sure he's sure, as best he can, about his decision. And getting more of a feel for how he clicks with teammates and coaches in person is a great way to do it. With Iowa this week, he was with the team in the locker room before and after the game and during halftime. I'm guessing he did the same at ISU.

I know what you're saying about social media and fan reaction to how he's going about making his decision, but he shouldn't and likely doesn't give about that. He needs to gather as much information as possible to make the best decision for him, and go about it however he feels is best.

As I wrote, he can't control what the idiots and asses are going to do. It's a huge decision for him, not them.

I just hope those same said idiots and asses hold their tongues no matter what decision he makes. I’m just happy that he’s staying in-state. Keeping this kinda talent at home should be the goal of all the states’ institutions of higher learning. In the end, it makes all of them better.
