Howe: Top Performances, Award Winners for 2016 Hawkeyes

Agree. And the absence of he and VandeBerg crippled this offense.

(cue the Greg Davis and Kirk Ferentz critics)

It's valid criticism to say that when one WR and one TE going down cripples your offense it shows a severe lack of depth and a failure of recruiting.

We had a healthy line a workhorse RB and an explosive RB as well as a senior QB and finished 120 out of 128...120.

I hate Greg Davis' offense as much as the next guy, but this is just intellectually dishonest.

First, our line was anything but healthy. I think we had something like 8 or 9 different starting line combinations in 12 games. On top of that, we start one center and 4 guards.

We had a banged up QB all year.

We lost our best WR to the NFL, our best TE to the NFL, our 2nd best WR to injury, our 2nd best TE to injury.

Should we have recruited better? Who knows...we lost an entire class of WR (that we stole OL schollies to get) to transfer/quitting.

Is GD a bad OC? Yep! But let's at least be intellectually honest in our criticism...

Not to mention we kept some talent on the bench when they were healthy. I won't mention names.(DMX)
