Damn some of these votes are going to be so tough. I'm very interested to see how it shakes out.

TE, OL, DL, LBs, DBs are going to have great players not on the 1st or 2nd team.

This is a cool idea. I'm looking forward to seeing the results.

There are so many formations now, do you use 1 TE or 2? 4 DB or 5?

You almost have to have 12 players on both offense and defense teams.

Then you could still have 2 WR, 2 TE and 1 FB on offense. And you could have 3 LB and 5 DB on defense.

We went a straight 11 on each side of the ball plus kicker and punter. Probably should have added long snapper. That’s my bad. Some of the votes were pretty tight.

Steve Batterson is a pro's pro in the business. I met Steve at freshmen orientation when I was going to major in Journalism and he was about to become a senior and sports editor of the Daily Iowan student newspaper. I remember touring the DI building that long ago afternoon. I ended up switching to broadcast communication studies long before graduating and never met Steve again, but have tried to follow him through the Quad City Times and his radio appearances.

Marc Morehouse got his start at the Dubuque Telegraph Herald in the mid 1990's when my career as a video producer for what was then TCI cable was revving into high gear. I crossed paths with Marc numerous times, especially at high school sporting events. Another solid pro in the business and an excellent writer/columnist.

I read the article but it wasn't clear if you came up with a list of X player per position, and voted from there? Or if everyone started with their own blank slate and created their teams.
