Maybe somebody should just ask him why he is wasting the NCAA's time applying for a waiver when he openly admits he has no beef with anybody at Michigan and had no family emergency that required him at home in Iowa City.
Martin knows the rules, the Iowa football coaches know the rules. Just suck it up and sit out the year like the rules say you are supposed to do when you transfer. Why even apply for a waiver?
The rules are bended all the time for far less shit. My question is, why wouldn't he try? He's got 5 years of his life to play college ball. Why give up one with no fight at all?

There are so many levels of idiot in this post it’s hard to know where to beginMaybe somebody should just ask him why he is wasting the NCAA's time applying for a waiver when he openly admits he has no beef with anybody at Michigan and had no family emergency that required him at home in Iowa City.

Why would he sit out a year if he didn't have to? I mean that is just stupid really, as waivers are being granted right and left now a days.
Not to mention there may be a reason we don’t have a clue about. I mean, if the family hired a lawyer, it may be more than just an OC issue. Maybe the family didn’t like how we was treated after a concussion, maybe there was an issue with a teammate similar to Chris Steele at Florida. We don’t know the whole story.
Sure hope you’re right.Looked awfully good at scrimmage today - couple big time catches and just gets open on short/quick game.
A lot of reps with #1's & #2's for a player your not sure is going to be available.... I think they know what will happen.
The NCAA doesn't know its own rules. Roll the dice. What the hell.Maybe somebody should just ask him why he is wasting the NCAA's time applying for a waiver when he openly admits he has no beef with anybody at Michigan and had no family emergency that required him at home in Iowa City.

Well, wearing a tighter belt would have been a start.I am furious that this GIF of me was posted on this site without my permission. OK. So. It was a moment of weakness on my part. Get over it.
Thank God the NCAA doesn't sit in on home loan applications. Home buyers and sellers would be waiting til eternity.Wasting the the NCAA’s time...LOL...wait, are you serious? For the life of me...I’m not really sure how the NCAA fills their day with worthwhile activities. Oliver’s request may cut into a Starbucks run, or maybe some pencil sharpening activities, but time is one thing they have plenty of. integrity...not so much.
If you set the rules and stick to them...this decision takes 5 minutes...but like everything else...they screw the pooch and then require a team of attorneys to sign off so they don’t face litigation on everything. Idiots.
That's good ... that's real good. The NCAA is the DMV of the sports world.
