I did not read the article yet but per DSM Register the Des Moines schools announced online only schools but also allowing band, colorguard, and football to proceed in person as they are voluntary. we will see what final outcome is.

This is why I love politics. We can make online learning mandatory and remove kids from the classrooms, but continue "voluntary" programs, yet they cannot let them voluntarily attend classes in person for fear of the virus. Makes almost as much sense as shitting yourself and then changing your shirt.
