How the hell is Adrian Clayborne, a projected top ten pick...

Kneeling on the sideline gasping for breath on a crucial drive in the fourth quarter?! That is absolutely PERPLEXING! Is it a testament to Iowa's conditioning, or how vastly overrated this defensive front was coming into the season?

For some reason, I can't imagine Ndomukong Suh with his hands on his hips watching the game as Oklahoma drives down the field to score a game winning touchdown.

He couldn't hold Jared DeVries jock! It was embarrassing for him and the program today. I'm a 40yr old Fat a** and might be in as good of shape as our d line today. I hope all the NFL scouts watch how many plays he took off and was was huffing and puffing on sideline. Blame it on some doubleteaming but someone else should be in line for a sack or tackle.

So you guys want NFL Scouts to overlook and or downgrade Clayborn. He could have left last year and made a bunch of $$$ but he came back because he felt loyalty to the program and KF and this is the crap you say about him? Incredible!

It's pretty hard to keep your breath when you play against a team and dinks and dumps passes all game long and he QB is quick and got rid of the ball fast. Most times once Clayborn did get close, they'd dump it off or he'd scramble far away quickly.

Why we didn't go to a dime or nickel D more often? With a team that isn't much of a threat to run and has 4-5 WR's you need speed out there for coverage. Clayborn is double teamed and chip blocked alot. Not so much today, but that is because Persa rarely had the ball when Clayborn drove the O-lineman on him back 7 yards on single coverage.

I expect our D to look far better against OSu as they are not a hurry up type of offense.

There's lots of blame to go around, but I'd pin it on the Coaches not having the best Defensive combination out on the field against a very pass happy team. And far as those questioning the conditioning of the D-line, I'd like to see how you would do in their shoes against a hurry up pass first offense.

It is also very difficult to sub vs. a pass happy, hurry up spread offense! Iowa generally rotates their front four quite regularly if you have been paying attention to that at all this year. They were not able to do that much today.

Not saying AC isnt a good player but I agree. People have been defending him all year but he ceratinly hasnt lived up to expectations. Yes at time he has been double teamed but he has had plenty of one on one opportunities to make an impact. Seems like he gives up on plays at time.

Getting a little sick of the Stanzi, Clayborn, Ferentz, Defense....etc criticism. Almost Every facet of this team is to blame today. It's the pain of losing a game we should have owned that is causing the blame game. It all comes down to expectations, and the reason we have these high expectations is, in very large part, to Stanzi, Clayborn, Ferentz, and the Defense. Dark, dark days for Hawkeyes fans this year...and it's all due to unmet expectations....

Unrealastic expectations asking a 300 lb guy to get after it play after play with no breather in between. How do you attack a great D line? Spread it out and hurry it up. Did you see Persa's face? He was exhausted too and he's much more fit than a linemen.
