They spent the past 12 years under the thumb of Texas watching the Big 12 cater to their every need and demand. Then the conference expansion topic came up and Nebraksa was able to make the 1st "big move" and land in the most prosperous conference that values loyalty and sharing things evenly between the group. They went from the shakiest situation to arguably the most stable one any university could have.
