How sad are the Mildcats...

Come-from-behind win last week vs Central Michigan, and then almost losing to the Goophies this week. We should throttle these guys this year. Persa couldn't hold Kafka's jockstrap. I look forward to some well-deserved revenge! Go Hawks!

Nwestern played down to minnisota's level. They are very solid in what they do and they could beat us.

Not convinced. They ONLY thing that worries me is they have our number and we seem to always lay an egg when we play them. Talent-wise....not even close. If the Hawks show up, shouldn't have much to worry about.

I want...NEED...The Hawkeyes to completely demolish and demoralize the frackin' purple pussycats this season. It has to happen.

I hear you! I have a bunch of friends who are Mildcat fans who are already spoutin' off. Living just south of Evanston doesn't help. Again, if we show up I don't think this will be much of a game. I hope Micah Hyde and our secondary continue to improve before then. They have NO rushing game and Iowa would minimize that even if they did. We should be able to force Persa into some costly picks.

We should throttle them every year but it rarely works out. We will need to not be over-confident and come in with a gameplan to make sure they aren't in a position to squeak a win.

That being said we will probably not change our game for them and will probably wish that we did as it will be a closer game than it needs to be.

I said the same thing last year, then in mid-game I changed my mind and decided I'd settle for a close win, then....

This thread should be closed and erased right now. The NU Kitties always play us tough; we are their Penn State. I'd love for this game to be a blow-out early on, but I doubt that'll happen. I would take a 1-point win.

You just had to bring last year up, didn't you, H. As if any of us needed a refresher. :p;):D

That has been my mindset for the past 5 years, but we all know the history. The game in Evanston will be close it might even be a loss. Btw, Persa is like every other NW qb they have had for the last 15 years or so, they just plug them in.

Well put, Cliche. Just once though I'd like the game to play out as it should. We have the better coach, we've had consistently better talent, etc, etc. But you're right, we need not be over-confident.

Key word there. They have our number just like we have PSU's. I can't even put into words how much I hate losing to NW.

VH, I brought last year up to remind everyone that this year the Hawks are going to beat the kittycats by at least 21. :)

To quote the late, great Marv Albert: "YESSH!!" :p

I'd rather play up Ball State's victory over Central Michigan. CMU is typically a pretty darn solid team ... and previously, they had only lost close games to seemingly pretty good teams.
