With all the expansion talk this question comes to my mind. NYC is definitely a pro town. They will never follow college sports with the excitement of other areas of the country but the Big 10 Network doesn't have to equal pro sports just be popular enough to get on their basic cable channels packages.
So what accomplishes this? Does Rutgers & Syracuse together do this? Does it take Notre Dame? Or if Notre Dame balks, does adding a couple more schools around the East Coast that probably have grads in the NYC area such as Boston College, UCONN or any others in the area?
Also, we all think in college football terms, maybe college basketball is a bigger deciding factor in NYC.
