I think that is one reason Paterno has not retired sooner...had he retired, he would not be looking at all of this. Of course as Joe said, "in hindsight..."
I have known quite a few people who for them, work was everything. When they retired they simply did not know what to do with themselves. Where I worked, many retirees would come back as volunteers for many years after retirement. Of course, some volunteering also have great retirements.
It is amazing how many people die within a few years after retiring between 55 to 62. Of course had they continued to work, many probably would still have died with the same illnesses.
Makes one wonder...work all your life or most of your life, retire, and then die a couple of years later.
I'm glad I retired when I did so I can enjoy as much of life as I can. I loved my job and would/could have worked many more years, but I also greatly enjoy retirement...not having to work or choosing when I want to work during the day.
