This is the division set up I am seeing most often:
Division 1
Michigan (Ohio State, Minnesota)
Michigan State (Penn State)
Iowa (Wisconsin, Minnesota)
Nebraska (Penn State)
Illinois (Ohio State, Wisconsin)
Northwestern
Division 2
Ohio State
Penn State
Wisconsin
Minnesota
Purdue
Indiana
So where there are multiple rivalry games out of division, why can't we protect two for the four years until we go to 9 games, when everyone will get two.
Each team will play 3 out of division games until 2015.
Teams like Northwestern, Purdue and Indiana only have one rivalry, and in their cases, play in division.
I guess I am viewing the scheduling through 2015 as temporary, and realize that not playing Wisconsin will be a temporary solution...but if we get to play Wisconsin at least 2 or 3 of the 4 years, it can keep the flames going until 2015. I think that has to be a thought process of the Big 10.
