How Does Eno's Exit Affect Other TX Commits? We asked.

Well I'm glad those two are still sticking. But Calloway it seemed like only had one foot in the door to start with so I doubt he's still coming. I'll be shocked if he's still on board actually. The other two I haven't read anything on recently. So I'm curious for Rob to hear back from them.

Holmes commit seems shaky especially since he just retweeted a guy calling out Iowa's recruiting policy and going after committed recruits as being two-faced.

Exactly one of many reasons why the policy needs to go. Whether or not other schools use it or Iowa even follows it, it does absolutely no good for the image of the program.

Exactly, so how many kids like Eno and Calloway does there need to be before KF adjusts the policy? It’s a policy that unless you’re an Alabama, OSU, or some other top 10 program year in and year out you really can’t get away with. It’s KF not realizing where Iowa is on the totem pole of college football. Iowa can’t be pushing away stud talent and replacing it with 2 and 3 stars and think they’ll keep pushing the program forward. It don’t work that way. They can push KMMs 2 star tshirts as much as they’d like. And I’m as proud of how Iowa has developed as many studs as they have but it’s always hit or miss with them. And rarely can they have sustained success without mixing in some studs along with them. Not all recruits are created equal. KF is so used to dealing with the Vandebergs of the world where Iowa is the biggest/best offer they have so he doesn’t have to worry about it. Well when you try getting the best kids they are going to have lots of options. So to me it’s KF just being stuck in his “it’s my program” way of doing things and being reluctant to adjust. So what if kids take other visits. At the end of the day there is absolutely nothing preventing what Higdon did to Iowa from happening. There just isn’t. So they need to do their homework have backup options on speed dial incase they have a Higdon type deal happen again. So why not give yourself the best shot at landing the best talent and not limit yourself due to a staring contest it makes no sense…

As I've said, I love our staffs ability to develop talent. That said I think its a double edged sword as their inability to land the high profile recruits is one of the reasons they're depending so much on the development of these players. I cannot imagine where we'd be with a team of 3* & 4* upper classmen that have had 2 years to develop in the system. I simply feel by improving our recruiting and the talent coming in we might be able to flip our track record where we spend 3 years as conference contenders and one year in the middle of the pack, rather than 3 years of mediocre play and one great season.

I think everyone knew it was just a matter of time when Calloway would open his recruiting back up.
