How Do We Come Out on Saturday???

I am so nervous we come out flat, sloppy and cold after only playing one game in past two weeks. This game smells of a letdown with three games the following week. Thoughts?

I'm not worried. The guys know they should have won at Wisconsin. I don't like Wisconsin's chances in this one. If Wisconsin struggles from 3 it could get ugly.

We come out fired up and build a good lead early. Wisconsin will make their runs, but we end up winning by 10 or more.

This team will be ready. No doudt in my mind What you never know is if shots are falling. That's what concerns me. The Mich game Marble got hot early and the crowd had great energy the guys fed off it. If he miss those shots it could have a whole different game. We need jump on them early

Question. Who do we put on Decker ?

This is how I would match up to start the game:

Gesell on Brust
Marble on Jackson
White on Gasser
Basabe on Dekker
Woodbury on Kaminsky

When Nigel Hayes comes in I want Basabe or Gabe on him. I think those 2 could be very effective in shutting down Hayes who has been playing extremely well as of late.

Brust injured his back in a fall in practice on Wednesday and was held out of practice yesterday. The local sports radio station (I live in Madison area) said he's considered day to day and is questionable. One less 3-point threat would help our chances be even better on Saturday.

Brust is a gamer, so I am betting he plays. If he does not, that could help them in a way, as it would probably put Hayes in the starting lineup, and he is a beast. They are fresh with a week off, so their thinner bench would not hurt them much.
I agree with the lineups above. Jackson has played very well the last couple of games by not shooting the ball much, and just dishing and driving and playing defense. He was horrible for that losing stretch when he was forcing up shots....he seems to have regained his focus and is playing smart ball, and that is bad news for Iowa.

Wis. is the hottest team in the league with 4 wins in a row, so they have most everyone hitting on all cylinders right now. Dekker has been turning it on, Hayes is a beast, Kaminsky is hot again, and Brust/Gasser take turns shooting well from distance. Even Koenig has been better in this streak. Tough game. GoHawks!

It's time for Iowa to impose their will on the Badgers. I want the Hawkeyes to put their foot on the throats of every team we play. It's time for the Big 10 to fear the Iowa Hawkeyes.

This is Iowa's year, they will not be denied....They know who the shooters are....I think 3 guys you need to respect, Kaminski, Hayes, and Jackson......Jackson can penetrate, Hayes is an inside presence, and Kaminski can shoot the 3 ball.......Not so concerned about Dekker or Gasser............You know it doesn't matter, Iowa will take care of the rock, and get the "W"

Let me see....hhhmmmmm
Iowa let Brust go to Wisconsin free and clear.
Wisconsin refused to let Uthoff go to Iowa...he has to pay his own way and sat out a year
Bo came out and basically said what he did was ok...and what Fran did was not even acknowledged
Fran wears his emotions on his sleeves, his chair, the scorers bench, he calls out telephone callers on the radio show
This team will be ready for Wisconsin make no mistake about it!

I think every Iowa fan...and every Iowa player...has had this rematch circled since the last game. With Fran getting tossed, the refs sucking in WUs' favor (2nd only to MSUx game), the Hawks will be ready. Boo Boo has his work cut out for him, but he is capable of making it happen, so there is no given. If Iowa runs, and runs all game long, we pull away and win...Big. If not, it's the same as game 1. Just because this is WUs' best scoring team under Boo Boo doesn't mean they can keep up with Iowa. I'm talking, lets "Loyola Marimount" these guys. Caveat: If Ted Valentine is one of the refs...we lose and he has at least 2 absolutely wrong calls against us. ;)

If anyone has a letdown, it should be Wisconsin. they are coming off a big win over UM.

Iowa knows what lies ahead for them should they keep up the intensity. They also know that they let that game vs wi earlier in the year slip away from the FT line after controlling most of the game.

I look for UI to come out on fire with a big boost from a raucous home crowd.

How Do We Come Out on Saturday?

I say we tell our parents/family and close friends first. Then, might as well post it on Facebook for the world to see!
