How can Fran get his guards/wings to stuff it or drop it over the rim when they drive it???

First off a great win today. But for almost all of Fran's tenure, the hawks have to have the most blocked shots on drives to the hoop. Not only blocked but most of the time the ball is being shot/released from well below the rim making it easy to block. Whether it was Gessell, JoeT, JBo, or any number of our shorter or mid-height players and even some taller ones, they just do not seem to be able to plant that foot or take one extra step or do a jump stop and explode right up to the rim after a drive and dunk it or just drop it over the rim. Also doing this would lead to more fouls called on the opposition and more free throws.

I see other teams having there guys take it all the way to and up to the rim on a very regular basis when they beat a guy.

It just seems like a lot of wasted offense and good play up until that block occurs.

An attack to the basket rarely is easy, but usually has some good results. Put backs, forced collapse by the D, which may pay dividends in the long run, chances for a 3 point play, gets enemy toward foul trouble more quickly. I think JT and Uhlis have been pretty creative with their shots in close. Not really arguing your point. We block a few ourselves though..
