How Bad are Visitor Seats at Michigan?

I travel to a least one away game every year and have been to every B1G stadium. I haven't purchased my away tickets through the Iowa ticket office for years because of how crappy the opposing fans' location is for most teams. I haven't been to the Big House since 2002 (yep, we kicked their butt that day!) and can't remember where they put the visitors. Are they at the very top of the bowl?

I went in 2010 and sat with the Iowa fans in seats that I think my buddy got through the University. They were insanely high, like over row 90 if I'm not mistaken, and they were in the endzone.

Edit - changed 2009 to 2010. 2009 game was in IC, 2010 was in AA.

End Zone. Pretty high, but cannot recall the row. Since Iowa beat up on them that day, I really did not care! My son and I like to use binoculars so that helped. They were not really any worse than PSU, WI, MSU, OSU...and, yes, I got them thru Iowa.

I went to the 2012 game @ AA.
Sat in the middle of the Wolve's fans who were cordial (they should have been...we got thrashed that day).
We were probably 35 rows up...decent seats. People do bang on their bells with a drum stick. It's their thing to do.
I've been to every B1G venue other than Nebby....the Big House experience was by far the most professionally run operation I've seen. Golf carts running all over, good parking, good traffic control, ushers for every section, on and on. Worth the trip once to see it all.

Why on earth would you ever get away tickets through the U?

In '16 @ PSU I got two seats at the 20 yard line, Iowa side, 12 rows up for $85 a piece on Stub Hub. There's zero reason to use UoI for away tickets.

I've never been overly impressed with the Big House.
My PSU trip in '16 was my first time there, and I was way more impressed with that place than MIchigan.

I'm sure that it being in the absolute middle of nowhere has plenty to do with the effect.

As of today on StubHub, the cheapest ticket available is a corner end zone seat in row 30 for $120. That is a crap seat. So, the choice really is between paying high dollar for a decent sideline seat through StubHub, or buying through the U of I and having a crap seat, but at face value. Just not sure I want to sit in row 92 of the end zone at any price.

So what I am reading and from experience at all big ten venues is that home crowd gets better seats than the away teams crowd because there will be more fans, sorry to blow all your minds and let you in on an apparent surprise!

If you buy a ticket via the U over stubhub I’m sorry.

Keep watching Stub Hub. Occasionally someone will post tickets for sale that they really want to move. And it is quite likely that the ticket prices will drop close to the game if you can take that risk. Not a lot of options in May.

You’re doing it wrong. Seats go way down as it gets closer. You never buy tickets before the season because that’s when people selling on stubhub are looking for suckers.

Tell you what, as the game gets closer I’ll bet you I can find better seats than the junk ones the U gets on StubHub

Look again in about 4 months

This took me less than 30 seconds to find and it includes fees. It's also on the Iowa side.

No way in hell would I buy a row 92 seat in the endzone for face value. You'd really take a trip all the way to Michigan, spend a ton of money on hotel, food, gas, (or flight), your time, etc. to sit in a shit seat just to save $40? Michigan's stadium is like the Rose Bowl. It's a shallow slant and not only are you high up, but you're WAAAAAAAY far away from the field. Personally I wouldn't make a trip to watch a football game from an eighth of a mile away.

Go to the Northwestern game. They have very few fans. You could probably sit on the bench.

NW game is a good one to take in on the road. If you drive to Kenosha, WI, you can catch a ride on the Metra and get off at Central Ave. Its a 2 block walk to the stadium. No traffic or parking issues to deal with. There is a nice post game bar nearby where fans from both teams gather, drink some brew, and have a sandwich. Then I take the Metra back to Kenosha and drive home.

Was there this year. Nosebleed in end zone.
