So many close games yet again this year had me thinking just how close this team is to an unbelievably good season and why I still believe this team could really make some noise yet this year if the law of averages catches up like it did tonight for the Gophers (like them or not you just knew they were better offensively than their last 2 game stats showed).

How many teams in the Big Ten have their backup AND starting center shooting better from the stripe than every one of our guards and half our forwards?

How does Uthoff not see the floor at the end of the game when in the need of points while ranked second on the squad in FT% and third on the team from beyond the arc?

FT%
Aaron White - .821
Jarrod Uthoff - .800
Gabe Oleseni - .730
Adam Woodbury - .714
Devyn Marble - .704
Melsahn Basabe - .692
Zach McCabe - .690
Josh Oglesby - .667
Mike Gesell - .667
Anthony Clemmons - .622

3PT%
Josh Oglesby - .475
Anthony Clemmons - .462
Jarrod Uthoff - .438
Mike Gesell - .373
Devyn Marble - .372
Zach McCabe - .343
Aaron White - .182

Because he would get the ball ripped by my grandma. He's so weak with the ball, he's a liability.

Good luck relying on that "law". I'd rather Iowa play a little better defense guarding the three than relying on some fake law to guide their fate.

Man those FT stats are horrible. Everyone below Woody is underperforming, except maybe Basabe. Guards should shoot at least 80% from the line.
