Honest look at 7-5 record

This was the year! everyone thought so!
Honest look-hawks were in every game, and that is why it was so dissapointing! Years past we could expect a blow out loss to tOSU or to a Mich team.
KF said it early that the close wins last year could be close losses this year!
I did not see qiut; I saw other teams out playing Hawks schemes due to inexperience/injury. If you think any senoirs wanted to end their career with a loss at MINN your nuts.
As a whole Hawks are so far removed from the years of 4 wins that we now gripe about a 7wins bowl appearacnce season!
Yes we expected more. If this is a bad as it gets, I'll take it! I'm pretty sure that the Coaching staff will look at this year as disapointment but the experience the young players got will only help in future! They still do a great job of taking lesser recruits and building winning teams!
Oh Yeah the vaulted Urban Myer and Florida with all their young 5 strar recruits went 7-5! Mack Brown and Texas with a consistent top 5 recruiting class couldn't beat IaState in Austin!
It could be alot worse Hawk fans!

Yes, if 7-5 is as bad as it ever gets, we're in pretty good shape. Agreey totally.

Problem is, this wasn't supposed to be a rebuilding year. That is why everyone considers this season to be such an underachievment. This team had the talent to win double-digit games. Losing to a 1-9 Minnesota team definitely should not have happened.

Hey don't sell hawks short MINN won 2 games(Ha HA)
Probably most dissapointing season other than the 3 tie season in 87 or 88
with KF I just dont see Hawks ever being that bad again and that is why he earns his pay. also look at his idol in Joe Pa how long has he kept his staff around?

We all know it was NC or ROSE bowl games or bust...once we lost to WISKY it was over...just fell from there...it was not only our expectations as fans but as players and coaches i believe too...haha but i think we are all trying to find the answers to something thats out of our control.

Good post. I look at it this way - Last year we finished the regular season 10-2. It EASILY could have been 7-5 or 6-6 with losses to UNI, Arkansas St, Mich St, Michigan. UNI - luckily blocked 2 field goals. Mich St. - who can forget that deflected pass that should have been intercepted but Moeaki somehow came up with in the final drive. Michigan - terribly thrown pass by denard on the final drive. Ark St - barely held on for a 4th quarter comeback.

All of those close wins gave us huge expectations going into this season. We WERE a good team last year. And got the breaks. This year we ARE a good team. Just couldn't get the breaks. The main stem of the frustration this year comes from last years success and often lucky breaks we received.

It takes luck having good seasons in college football (especially without blue chip athletes). When all the luck goes against us, I'm satisfied with a 7-5 season and a good bowl win.

Hopefully next year, we can get closer to the top again. Under Ferentz, we will always be a team that nobody wants to play. (Except for maybe Northwestern...)

You sure do know how to make a turd shine! I would prefer to know that the players quit against Minny, unfortunately I believe the real culprit is our coaching philosophy. Minnesota is a team that was curb stomped by all the elite teams in the division and lost games to many of the mediocre ones. A loss like that to cap off an already disappointing season should not be tolerated.

Mack Brown may have had a disappointing season as well, but he has a championship already and competes for one more seasons than not. I don't mind having a rebuilding year here or there. What is disappointing about this team is that we had a great senior class who were expected to acheive big things this year.
