Just think what it would be for Iowa if they actually crafted a plan to have a bunch of student fans near the floor.

I agree. That's one of the things I miss about the old field house. The rowdy students banging on those old bleachers. It was deafening at times.

Not going to bother reading the "science" behind these rankings. Just know that (1) There just aren't twenty two arenas tougher to win at than Breslin and (2) PSU should be much lower and Indiana, Purdue and Wisconsin should be much higher.

Its about determining how many extra points the home team gets for playing at home vs on the road. Michigan State rarely loses at home mostly because Michigan State rarely loses in general. If you look at conference games for Michigan State from 2013-2016 (3 seasons) they lost 8 games at home and 9 games on the road.

Kenpom even agrees that you can't really rank these teams accurately. Its more about sections...ie the top 3rd has an advantage to playing at home, the middle 3rd does't have an advantage, and the bottom 3rd actually plays worse at home.

I really don't feel Iowa has that great a home field advantage during the reg. season. Those late games in the middle of the week are tough. My commute from Du bu Que would get me home around 1 in the morning. That's just too late. I did go to the NIT games and they were a lot of fun. The fans at those games were loud and fun. I think maybe because many were not season ticket holders. The TCU game was the best crowd I've ever been in. Almost willed them to a win. If we would have won that game I think we would definitely been in the finals. That game proved to me that Carver can rock just like Kinnick, just wish I didn't live so far away.

Iowa definitely needs to do something about getting rowdies near the court.
