HN is the Cradle of Democracy

I read this quote a few days ago about how a democracy should work: "I strongly disagree with what you just said, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

I think that sums up this board. You can disagree with other posters, but respect their right to give their opinions. I think by and large that is how it is working on this board right now, which is a terrific thing.

I'm rambling, but it struck me that way.
