Hey, another Bowl Projection Thread (after week 12) - Feels like a Holiday (Bowl)

With West Virginia losing, this may open up another New Year's Six slot for Penn State (Fiesta?).
This is assuming Michigan winning out for CFP and a 10-2 Ohio State going to the Rose.

Northwestern would move up to Citrus.
Wisconsin would probably get the Outback slot.
Then, Iowa would be a lock in the Holiday Bowl, regardless of Nebraska game.
(Not going to take Sparty as they were there, last year.)

Michigan State to probably Gator Bowl, instead of Music City
Winner of Purdue/Indiana to Pinstripe Bowl
That's it for the B1G.

A Holiday Bowl match-up between either Washington or Utah.
Iowa is about a 3 point underdog to Washington and Iowa would be about a 1 point favorite against Utah.
Obviously, playing Washington would be a much more sexier match-up, nationally.

West Coast Iowa fans will represent, as they only had 1991 and 2015 for short travel to a bowl game.

There are four big ten teams (Minnesota, Maryland, Purdue(!) Indiana) sitting at five wins and I needing one more to get bowl eligible.

Only one is guaranteed to get to six. The winner of Purdue-Indiana.

Throwing an upset in there this week, say Minny over Wisconsin, could really throw the conference bowl progression into a lurch.

Don't want to consider the other upset possibility. I've seen one team celebrate on our field this year.

Watching Nebraska do it would make me sick to my stomach.

Nebraska is 4-7 and looks like no 5-7 teams will go to a bowl this year. So no bowl for Nebraska this year.

And, oh yeah, Iowa is going to pound Nebraska into the turf on Friday anyway. The only team celebrating in Iowa City will be, of course, Iowa.

Amazing PSU could maybe make the Fiesta Bowl with a 9-3 record.

Makes you wonder just how close Iowa was to making the Fiesta Bowl. If Iowa could have won just half of it's close games in the Big Ten, they would have been the team in line for the Fiesta.

Oh well, Iowa did not win those games and the Holiday Bowl is a very nice bowl instead.

Shrug. They're all the same. If you want to throw thousands of dollars at an exhibition, go for it.

I still say they should just throw Iowa and Iowa State into the same bowl game. If you're not in the playoffs or a new years 6 bowl ...who really cares. Just target the most entertaining/intriguing match-ups across the board. That being said, I'd enjoy an Iowa vs Washington match-up.

If I had a dollar every time you wrote that I could throw away thousands at any warm exhibition.
