Pretty simple, what best describes your thoughts on the game and why?

I really like it. It's about two schools that didn't squander an opportunity on a national state to do something good for it's citizens. It not arrogant or self centered. It's a way to recognize that while the game is meaningful, it's still just a game. The more I think about it, the more I think this is something they got really really right (for once).

What you got?

I totally agree with you duffman. Too many people not looking at it from this perspective. This is very unique and i like it. Need more positive stories in college football.

I think they could have had the cake and ate it too...Make the rivalry fun and have a cool trophy....meanwhile, honor the hero's and charity as well. And by the way....taking a corporate sponsorship...cheapens the "hero and charity" thing just a bit don't you agree?

It is unique because it's lame. It has nothing to do with the game, and will largely be ignored in favor of the game. They will have a cute little pre-game ceremony honoring people, which will get a fraction of the applause that the seniors get in their ceremony.

I don't like the corporate sponsorship either, but the reality is it was probably necessary.

I also don't see how this precludes the trophy from being cool.

I'm glad the trophy has nothing to do with corn or Kinnick.

This is more than I was expecting from the entity that has come up with such things as Legends & Leaders, B1G, the Land Grant Trophy, etc. I voted option C but may reconsider after I've seen the actual trophy.

What, Do you not respect the heroes?

Just practicing my defense of this game.

Ohhh and that's the other thing, I personally don't give a rats *** what anyone outside of the states and fan-bases of the two schools think because frankly it's irrelevant. This is about us not them. They to line up like sheople and watch the game because it's the only thing on. Meanwhile they will drive ratings and increase ad revenue all of which will help draw attention to our schools and help raise money for the charities involved.

It's not like the name of the game or trophy game will have any impact on how the nation perceives the game. "Farmageddon" is a pretty cool name but it's not like people were standing in line to watch those two terrible programs play a football game.

It gets a meh from me. When thinking about it I feel like the dude from Animal House that has the devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other. The angel is saying "yeah, this is a good thing honoring everyday hero's, etc." The devil is saying "this sucks, you hate them and it is lame." So, I'm torn and left with meh whatever.

Who the hell is a hero from Iowa or Nebbie?

Now if they called the Army vs Navy game this, then yes, it would be a perfect fit.

TRUE heroes are the guys overseas that are fighting for their lives, not a couple midwest schools playing a football game. I think this is disrespectful to say the least.
