I'm sure he was just returning the cans for the deposit, and he couldn't find an open store at 2:45 AM, so he was going to a 24 hour Hy-Vee.

When he's charged with something that will mean something, and it will likely be what you're all assuming. Until then he just crashed with alcohol in the vehicle. It's not out of the realm of possibility that he bought the alcohol to drink when he got home.

He was of legal age. I doubt he would have a high level of blood alcohol if it took over an hour to free him from his vehicle. Add to that the time for the emergency crew to arrive and transport him to the hospital. I doubt if any charges are filed unless there was an open container.

As to the single car accident, I would not assume alcohol is the culprit yet.

They took a blood sample according one of the papers and the results are not in yet. I realize that there was alcohol in the car, but that is not against the law unless it is being consumed.

Lots of things can happen at 2:45 in the morning. Lots of drivers fall asleep, animals jump out on the road and you swerve to avoid them (unless they are badgers-I hate those stinking badgers).

Too bad, but I think he was going to redshirt anyway, I just hope he did not cause any permanent injuries.
