Heavy weights

So it seems like we are in good hands with the lower and mid weights under Brands. I know we have Telford, but it seems our brands teams have been weaker at the heavier weights (relative I how good we are at lower weights). One comment before my question is I think we would have those dominating teams like we had during our 15 NC run if we were stronger at the heavy weights. My question is, do you think the current coaches will be able to get the studs needed at the higher weights to make dominating teams like we have had in the past?

Yes. Last year there were many need weights and the coaches rolled out one of the best recruiting classes of all time. Next year there aren’t as many need weights (HWT, 157/165, 149?) so they can be more aggressive to landing the few key recruits needed and I have all the faith that they will come through once again. 174/184/197 are secured with top recruits that will hold down those spots for years to come. Next year they have to land a blue chip HWT to take over for Telford when he graduates. If the coaches are able to sign a top level HWT and hopefully another mid level guy for depth, the upper weights should be in great shape. Since HWTs don’t usually have the luxury of moving up or down a weight to make the team, you have to be a little more resourceful with how much scholarship you’re allocating to this weight but I’d love to see another blue chip signed a couple years after hopefully signing Stoll. That way we aren’t in as urgent of a situation as now with only one guy capable of scoring points at nationals on our lineup at the weight and also providing another option in case our projected HWT doesn’t pan out.
