Headed to St. Louis

Even though I'm a huge Hawkeye fan, this team is hard NOT to root for.....plus I've gotta support the alma mater. If nothing else, there will be 3 great games regardless of what UNI does.

In addition, anytime I can spend quality time with my 10 year old whose probably more of a basketball fan than I am is good stuff.

My husband and I are going to St Louis on Friday for the games. Never have been to an NCAA tournament before should be fun

Be careful if you partake in Adult beverages. I believe alcohol content is a bit higher down there. Last time my wife and I went, we ended up being pretty loopy by halftime and then it dawned on us......oh we actually drank like 2-3 more beers by content then we otherwise are used to. Of course you mentioned kids so you probably don't have to worry 'bout this. Take care and have fun!

Have fun. Wish I could have experienced that as a young kid...or for that matter, now!

Just told my son last night......he's pretty jazzed since it's just dad and him going. I was able to get seats on the floor at a pretty good price so that should make it pretty cool. It's not often than just him and I get away since I have two other kids, but my daughter has no interest whatsoever in sports and my youngest boy is still too young to take. Once I got the go-ahead from my better half (even though she's jealous as hell because she loves basketball), we were set.

This will be my first NCAA game in person as well.....hadn't had the opportunity to watch a team I like that's close enough to home that it won't break the bank.

Racer,

Not trying to put a damper on anything, but be careful down here. Downtown St. Louis is not the safest place at night. You should be fine, but always be on alert when walking to your car.

Have fun and if you like Italian food, go to the Hill off Kingshighway and I-44. There are some great Italian restaurants on many street corners.

just got back from there ... take him to City Museum during the off day ... if you want to go up the Arch, buy tickets ahead of time online because the tram up the north side was being repaired, meaning less tickets to be had

Downtown STL is plenty safe, unless you go wandering off somewhere outside of downtown. It should be pretty hoppin down by the Edward Jones Dome, and I'm sure a great time.

Thanks for the advice we will be careful when walking back to the car at night. Hope to see some really good basketball. Love Italian food will have to check that out.
