For all the other theories and narrative. Shooting sub .400 lost this game. The end.
We don't need to go back to the insane and unsustainable % we were shooting midseason. We simply need to shoot around 45%....and not go on 6 minute scoring droughts.
Also, Wisky hit back to back 3's...Twice. and 3 of them were contested. At just the right time.
Wisoconsin kept hitting 3's at huge times too.
That'll happen when you don't guard them.
I agree. Iowa giving up 20 3 pointers the past 2 games is just bad luck.
59 pts won't cut it... Period. Iowa's over under should be 75. Not 60. Too many missed layups throughout the game. Free throws again. Not to mention settling for tough jumpers at the end of shot clocks. Uthoff has to get on the block and at the elbow with the ball. As good as he is at those off balance deep jumpers he hasn't been hitting them... And since the offense goes through him and Jok they have to really be bringing it game in and game out. I'm done hoping and praying that MG can be any kind of 3rd option. He doesn't even want to be. Clemmons is trying out there at least. But he's just a shooting guard that's really streaky trapped in a 6'2 body. He's a 6 to 14 pt a game guy at the most pretty much.
True but all too often we've had to do that. This team is better when they are getting the look they want within 15 seconds of a possession. When MG is out front dribbling with less then 10 on the shot clock it's just about always bad news for us. So the fewer of those types of possessions the better is my over arching point on that. The tough jumpers at the end of the shot clock are acceptable because the other team is trying too. They are going to inevitably have good defensive possessions. It's not like those happen abnormally often enough to worry about. We have to start making open jumpers and layups at a respectable clip tho.

Yeah they missed 2 of 16 and some were open, but very few were taken in any rhythm at all. Why was Iowa so good a month ago?? Because they were better defensively. They were getting stops, getting the board and running into a secondary break getting a good shot or getting fouled and going to the line, they were able to force the issue offensively. Its tough to do that off makes for the other team. Like I said in another post, this whole thing comes down to being better defensively.
