hawks need to self scout themselves on yesterday's game

Hawk secondary seemed to be playing off guys and more zone than in second half.

Along with that they need to get QB pressure and even NFL analysts say quick pressure in the face of great QBs make them hurry or tuck the ball.

Need to get some good blitz action up the middle on occasion to keep the qb guessing.

Second half had all the elements put together albeit against a team that cant run the ball very well. Still I think the hawks can handle decent run games by opponents but it is the soft pass coverage and lack of pass rush that seems to hurt them.

On offense the run game looked good most of the game and the first half bashing by the Off line takes its toll.

But get CJ into the flow early and often with some high % throws and let him bootleg and run a few without taking a hit to get that hyped up energy out of him.

Where else and what else can the hawks do to be cruising on all cylinders for 4 qtrs?

Watching tape of the previous game, what a novel idea...

Oh what a gester jester.

Fans have been wanting a more aggressive team and play calling. They hadn't got it for most of last 5 years. It is one thing to look at tape and another thing to scout yourself and see what the works on a strategy level

We started playing a lot more nickel and dime in the second half. D-line was basically able to shut done the ISU running game by themselves (plus ISU basically abandoned it.)

Our LBs still aren't great in coverage, but changing D really helped in the second. Seemed to me that our CBs were able to press the LOS more in the second half with help over the top.

Pitt will probably bring a more balanced offensive attack even with their best RB Connor out. Sounds like Pitt pulled their QB so maybe some question marks with their offense.

If L Daniels not able to go I hope D Mitchell is ready to rumble.

Maybe OTt was held out for precautionary reasons since he didnt have a sling etc on after the game.

Need to get some speed at WR only if to stretch the field but I think CJ can put it on the money with them. CJ just seems to have a natural passing motion that makes him throw the right amount of speed and trajectory.

Crazy idea of the day: Anybody know if Wadley can catch? Move him to an HBack and have him run the seams?

Maybe he can catch, but can he keep the catched pass caught? laffy. Like the speedy receiver frm last year. same deal. A shame really. More natural instinct in that guy than anyone we've seen for a long time. And he can't hang on to the ball.
