During the game yesterday they did a nice job of explaining the difference between the BPI and RPI. Seems like the BPI makes more sense as it includes margin of victory and also if a team is missing key players. Anyway, the Hawks moved up to 11th after the win over Michigan yesterday.

Here is a good article comparing the BPI vs RPI, Sagarin, Kenpom ...

It doesn't make any more or less sense than anything else. It's a mathematical formula, just like the rest of them. It's not like the RPI is somehow miscalculated, it just doesn't use the same inputs.

Obviously it's not miscalculated, but different inputs (variables) makes a debate for which is more useful. BPI and KenPom seem to make more sense than RPI.

Speaking of the kenpom, the Hawks moved up 4 spots and are now ranked 7th through yesterday's games.

Good deal … hopefully the BPI and kenpom influence the human voting in the AP and Coaches Poll. Hawks should easily stay in the top 20 despite the bad loss against OSU on Tuesday. Not many ranked teams got beat this week, compared to the blood bath last week in the top 25.
