Hawks got ambushed in AZ....No doubt about it

Not an excuse but AZ had played absolutely nobody prior to iowa. We didn't realize it but neither did iowa. Iowa doesn't change much week to week or year to year so AZ new what was coming. The hawks, on the other hand, were getting new offensive and defensive looks from AZ. Looks az didn't have to show in either of their first two games. No loss is easy to swallow but this one should have ALMOST have an asterisk beside it..... Don't get me wrong, iowa lost the game and i'm not trying to take away from az victory. Just my opinion.

At the same time, we were also ambushed by our own success. Can't say I speak for the players or the coaches, but after our consecutive beatdowns of EIU and ISU, things were looking up for this team.

The DL was getting pressure as a group. The coverage was holding up. The OL didn't seem like an unit to worry about, Stanzi was playing great and the run game was working. Special teams was already a bit of an issue in the first two weeks, but seemed to hold.

@EDR:I would in no way say that running game was working. Not sure which game you were tuned in to. I think pretty much everyone is worried about the OL at this point with that regression.

He was talking prior to this game. EIU and ISU
