Hawks a 2 point favorite over Sparty tonight

Vegas has the Hawks as a 2 point favorite over MSU. This is a big one and we are overdue for a win over Izzo (they've won 8 in a row). Go Hawks.
 
Michigan State has played exactly 2 road games this year. They're 1-1. The big win was by 5 at Navy. They lost in OT at Notre Dame. They have also lost 4 home games...3 to ranked teams and then the 7 point OT loss to Texas Southern. I'm loving the Hawks at -2 tonight. Michigan State has the name and Izzo but for me it's all about "What have you done for me lately?"

The Texas Southern loss is the one that throws you. Take that one away and you've got you've got 4 losses (3 of which are teams ranked #12 or higher) The 4th being on the road to a 1 loss Notre Dame team.

I agree but they have only played 2 road games out of 15 and beating Navy by 5 isn't going to impress many people. They haven't done anything to this point on the road to instill fear...not saying they can't or won't but not thus far.
 
MSU isn't the same team when they don't have big 10 refs helping them out. Once they got into conference play, they should be undefeated if the refs would have just made 1 more ridiculous call against Maryland. It was kinda funny watching their coach freak out. He probably had no idea that was coming. Unfortunately they will have big 10 refs tonight so we will have to be at least 10 points better.

I can't wait until Izzo and Ryan hang it up....I've had enough of those two and the outright gifts that B1G refs give them night in and night out.
 
Michigan sports writers are predicting an Iowa victory. It seems they are just trying to fire up the Michigan state players.
 
I'll admit, prior to them playing Indiana, I thought this was a W for Iowa. They looked pretty good on defense the last time out and shot the ball better. That being said, if they don't get transition baskets, they are limited offensively. Indiana turned the ball over and it led to breaks where MSU just finished everything.

If we can keep the turnovers down and force them to operate in the half court...I think we win on both ends in that type of game. Once again, we have to shoot a decent percentage and can't go through the big scoring stretches that have killed us in every loss. Valentine and Trice appear to be the only guys that can really hurt you from three and they have been inconsistent. We just have to keep the penetration at a minimum...and I think we are better there with Gesell and Sapp than we were last year for sure.

I think we win this game.
 
Big game Hawks!! I'm hoping someone channels their inner Zach McCabe and extends the streak of throwing Trice down :D
 
I think Izzo gets a special kind of pleasure from coming into Carver and winning. Moreso than he does other Big10 teams. I hope they get it served to them tonight. We've beat Wisconsin, Michigan, and even Indiana in recent years, its time to serve one up to old Sparty and that little weasel Trice. GO HAWKS!
 
Sparty is healthier now than they have been in any of their losses. Hopefully the guards show up and contribute offensively.
