Iowa picked up its 11th known verbal commitment in the '18 recruiting class Wednesday when Indiana TE Anthony Torres pledged to the Hawkeyes:

Tight End U strikes again! He is a large target. That IMG Academy in Bradenton must have some great coaching and they have a ton of talent. Several top 100 players in the country on their roster. Nice to open that pipeline.

Good chance he gets bumped to a 4 star in a few months. Hey Tony, don't be shy about flipping some teammates to Iowa.:D

I was hoping our record lived up to our talent level and pressure was applied to upgrade some of these kids.
But of course we went 4&5 in conference and the kids (not the actual people responsible for 4-5) will be blamed. What was I thinking when our own head coach can't go one week without insulting his own recruits by calling them "developmental" players. Why would 3rd parties compliment our class when the HC struggles to do it.
So my wishful thinking regarding the rankings was just that, wishful thinking.
 
I've reached out to Anthony and his high school coach. Crickets. Probably not a good sign. I think this one might be a mutual split. Torres was hurt all season. Not sure if that was a factor.

So, it was like a marriage or not? I can't imagine Iowa revoking a scholly (especially due to injury) after what Brian & Kirk have said about commitments....
 
Pretty loaded at TE with Fant, Hockenson, Beyer, and Cook. Also Lee coming in for '19 so not taking a TE in this class is not a huge deal.
