"Hawkeyes hope to be in a zone"

That's the headline in the Burlington Hawk Eye this morning. And my eyes just about fell out of my head when I read it.

Then, I read the first two paragraphs:

Devan Bawinkel's face lit up when asked if he thought Northwestern would play a zone defense against the Iowa basketball team in tonight's game at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

"I hope so," the Hawkeyes' senior guard said, grinning.

Curse you, Burlington Hawk Eye, for a misleading headline.

Like I have said a 100 times this year. If you zone Iowa you are asking to lose the game. If NW again tries to zone this team again Carmody should be fired.

We have been zoned before but I agree our chances do go up. However watching NW play Wisky the other night. I look for Carmody to really extend that zone like he did versus Wisky and their shooters. Some 3/4 court pressure...and 1/2 court traps.
