Except Jayden plays OLB.Excellent. Welcome to the Hawkeye Family Jayden! Now get out there and make us forget about Josey Jewell.
Welcome. I was going to be cynical and say something about Doyle. But I dont know the quality of either so I refrained.
Great to see us getting a Georgia kid.
He looks great at rushing the passer... Too bad he'll rarely be used in that role with usI agree!!! The kid looks great on film. Strong, aggressive, and quick. Good to see the coaches recruiting from Georgia and beating out power five teams for a recruit.

Prevent D only prevents you from winning.Lol, yep......... fall back into a prevent zone until they get to our own twenty yard line. Football ain’t what it used to be. Linebackers are falling back into pass coverage too often instead of letting the defensive backs do their job. The defensive backs used to be right up inside of the jerseys of the receivers. If you couldn’t cope with keeping up with the receivers you got to sit on the bench and let someone else try. Now they play ten yards off of the receiver from the LOS. Safeties are twenty to thirty yards off of the LOS.
I loved the “85” BEARS defense. Attack, attack, attack!!!
Iowa plays a prevent scheme on both sides of the ball. PREVENT losing your coaching job by playing a very conservative scheme on both sides of the ball and end up winning seven to nine games a year so the U of I administrators can say; “Thank you sir, may I have another.”
OMG, Iowa simply doesn’t get players like Jayden. His first step and closing speed are uncommon and unheard of at Iowa. He gets guys to the ground like a LB/S, comes off the edge like an EDGE guy, and has the patience/instincts of a high level MLB. He will play this fall and I would not be surprised if he ends up a starter in 2018 bf it’s all said and done. A poster on another site suggested he looked like Von Miller. IDK about that. He looked like a HS version of Roquan Smith to me. His unusual path and injury history is the only reason he is not at GA/Clemson/SEC powerhouse. Nice job by the staff getting this kid! Thank you early signin period. Bet he big boys were largely full.
Still scratching my head on how the Georgia defensive player of the year got over looked by Georgia and the other SEC teams. I did not know about injury problems he has had. That would explain why he was overlooked.
Yeah he's a tad undersized perhaps? Just over 200 maybe that's a partial reason why. But he'll put on 15-25 lbs in a yr or so no problem. He wasn't completely overlooked as Ole Miss was after him. But yeah for the most part you'd think he'd have had more big time programs after him. Glad we got himStill scratching my head on how the Georgia defensive player of the year got over looked by Georgia and the other SEC teams. I did not know about injury problems he has had. Transfered HSs once then missed the first 2 games of his senior year...benefit Iowa and ultimately benefit Jayden as he's a perfect time fit for Iowa's scheme.
I disagree with how Parker will use him. He will blitz a ton. Why? Bc he will get home. P Parker hasn't had a player like him. Predict he will get his feet wet starting the year in a 3rd and long set, impress there and ST, and start by October.
Well that'd be a first wouldn't it? I can't remember on defense Iowa catering their system whatsoever for an individual players skill set. They've done it more so on offense with their QBs going from Chandler/Banks/Tate/etc. But not so much on D. I'd be all for it don't get me wrong it'd be a nice change of pace. But I'll be surprised if they do
