That about sum it up?

-1 Bad read here. Threw to the tightly covered Davis on the squirrel route when he had KMM coming wide open on the shallow in route beyond the first down marker. Just didn’t look like he even looked at anyone other than Davis on this play. D1 Play 5

I see jvb's passing to the right side of the formation was poor. Is this mainly where his mechanics are poor, opening up his body, etc?

JVB needs to see these receivers opening up. Seems like davis had double coverage again that jvb threw into and KMM breaking into the open spot vacated by lbkr.

Based on the week to week numbers Iowa has tended to throw more to the right side than anywhere else. Normally they have a lot of success on the right side. Most right-handed QBs tend to be more accurate/consistent to their natural open side, the right. I wouldn't read to much into it from just one game, but it will be something to keep an eye on.

Wasn't there something that came out after the Pitt game last year about Vandy being more comfortable, seeing the field better, performing better out of the shotgun?

If that is the case, I do not understand why we don't run out of the gun more.

Iowa’s ability to adjust routes against blitzes has been consistently poor this year. You always expect some growing pains with a new system and inexperienced WRs but it’s starting to become a pattern. I don’t think the majority of the blame goes to Vandenberg but several of those awkward looking quick throws vs the blitz were on him. Many others were WRs not making the correct route adjustment. Iowa will have the bye week to work on this and will need to get it under control quickly.

I'll say...........^^^^
Something definitely needs tweaked, and tweaked hard...........

Vandy had the best mechanics and footwork of any recent QB when he was a frosh.....what the heck happened?

It seems, like Ricky, that Vandy has lost a lot of his natural feel for playing QB and passing the ball as a senior....too caught up in being perfect, and avoiding mistakes.

Exactly, because opposing defensive coordinators are eventually going to pick up on this as well.
