We could have two players taken in the top 10 of the upcoming NFL draft. Doesn't say much about our offensive coordianator
utilizing this talent.

I always thought it was borderline criminal to have either Hock or Fant on the sideline when Iowa had the ball. Fant has the speed to play WR if need be.
If Epenesa isn't on the field 90% of the time defensively for Iowa I'll be stupified.

Some in this forum staunchly defend our coaches' in-game decisions with regard to playing time and utilization. I don't get it.

Completely asinine. With our WR situation, Fant absolutely should have been out there all the time. This is what my quote refers to. But this has been hashed out a dozen times already.

Guys get pretty tired when running down the field or trying to pass rush and run defend every play. Teams rotate guys. It's not a video game where you can turn the stamina up to 100 so you never have to sub guys.

I'm not referring to normal stamina issues. I'm referring to the "Fant six plays in a half" issues.

If both TEs go in the top 10, Im not sure what I will do. I will celebrate for the boys, but I will be so pissed at the ineptitude of our OC and HC. Wait Im already pissed about that.

More proof that our HC and OC both have no clue what they are doing. Yet people defend it, and even worse, they want BF as our next head coach. This is why Iowa will always be irrelevant, and never more than average in conference play. Two 1st round draft picks on our offense, and these 2 buffoons still can't find the right way to utilize them both.

Uhh...I think you're forgetting--Noah Fant is merely a "specialty player." It's true because Kirk Ferentz said so. Specialty players can only contribute during special plays...secret, special plays.

Fant got his bell rung in the Minny game and probably had a concussion. His amount of plays and stats went way down after that game. Ferentz did him a favor by limiting his PT and Fant was likely on board with this plan. At that point- healthy Fant was a lock 1st round pick. Another concussion and best case he drops a couple rounds- worst case, his career is over. Fant is extremely fast but runs too upright and will likely take a beating in the NFL if teams use him over the middle. He’s a seam and down the field route runner- thus, he’s a specialist.

It was clear mid season that TJ has better hands, better blocker and is able take a hit. TJ was on the field and targeted in every clutch situation down the stretch of the season. Coaches recognized strengths and weaknesses of each player and used them accordingly.

But you said after 2017 that the graduating Akrum Wadley was our only playmaker. That our offense would go to hell in a hand basket without Wadley. You said it. You never give any of our offensive players credit for being playmakers until after they leave and you never will. Then you will bash the coaches for not using them properly. Wait, didn't we lack returning playmakers last year at this time?

Shut your fool mouth!
The only reasonable explaination is the coaches are inept, childish two year olds who got mad because big brother was a meany...

This board will not tolerate any other plausible explaination.

Looking at the various mock drafts, Hock is almost a lock for the top 10, with Fant any where from 10-25.
