Little low for the coach to steal Woodbury's thunder, though. I mean if he does in fact commit to the Hawks, it was out earlier that he did NOT commit to UNC. Let the kid have his moment.

For all you know, tm3308, the coach letting that word out might be part of what they want to do. Maybe they want to give an early impression that he will commit to Iowa without actually saying that so that twitterverse and the Internet don't go ballistic for the next 24 hours about him supposedly going to commit to UNC because he just got through talking to Roy.

So what if Twitter/Facebook blew up? All he'd have to do is hold off from both for 24 hours. Even for a teenager, that really isn't that difficult.

I guess I don't actually know what's going on, but that just seems a little too strategic for a commitment announcement.

Some people would prefer that the entire fanbase of a basketball program not hate them for 24 hours by thinking they were going to UNC until they make it official that they are going to Iowa.

Just a thought on what some people might think and how they might avoid situations if possible. Planting a comment like that is hardly really strategic. It simply takes a little bit of thought to determine what you can do to make your life easier until you make everyone happy that is an Iowa fan. Provided he chooses Iowa, that is.
