They gave up one big play, and 7 points. On most days that is enough.

I was wrong about Don Brown, he out coached us. They gambled on the edges like we thought they would and they beat us. I am surprised we didn't have anything to counter that though.

We are still a good team. Not great, but good. We are certainly not good enough to overcome those penalties and turnovers. Maybe we can improve over the next 8 weeks or so.

Sucks, but it's not the end of the season.
 
defense was great. safeties playing great, dline and backers need to get a router and get more TFL
 
Golston finally showed up! Nixon was good again. Starting to like Koerner back there. Also DJ Johnson after the the big play (which was good coverage) was very solid. Like his speed back there.

LBS getting better every game. Filling holes better and in better position
 
Koerner played really well and stone will be drafted next April.

Even Johnson played well and didn’t even really get burned on the 51 yard pass to Collins. Had good coverage.

You know....Phil Parker is a genius. To have a defensive backfield play that well with so many injuries. It’s really amazing to behold.

Thought Defense played very well. However, I wonder if Michigan played it a little safe trying to avoid Patterson picks down the field. Iowa was nothing but falling a part on offense, so I guess they were ok with it.

So, it is possible our D looked a little better than what we saw based on what Michigan was trying to do. Michigan's best defense today was having the Iowa offense on the field.

Don Brown went out of character and BF did not adjust.

Michigan passing was almost all short wings/flats. Not much across the middle or deep

For sure....if they were more aggressive they may have got more points. They also could have also put our offense in a better position to score points with turnovers. What they did, worked for them.

I guess when they saw what was happening with their defense they just went to safe mode and no Patterson TO
 
Defense was great. Michigan was pretty conservative on offense, which surprised me, but they had nothing to fear because Stanley was their best weapon today. Keep him on the field and they were safe. Hats off to our defense though, they played hard all day. Our offense should be embarrassed.

Agreed. I thought Iowa's defense did well with what Michigan gave them. Hats off there.
I hope the Iowa faithful can see past the trees (especially with some of these threads starting tearing up the offense which is deserved). Iowa defensive problems were hidden today because Michigan did not have to play aggressive on offense. We have problems on both sides of the ball.

I think Penn St will attack more down the field than Michigan did with that D-Bag coach. Hopefully the Ferentz's come up with a better game plan next week.
