I'm sure nobody has been invited yet, but the committee probably calls the teams they are considering to make sure they're in if given a bid.

They don't have a coach right now and can begin their search now since their season is over. Though, they could have an assistant run the team.

I guess that makes sense. Although they shouldn't penalize the players because they fired the coach.
