Nebraska chancellor introduces his university | fyi - News for Faculty and Staff - The University of Iowa

Love how Nebraska continues to hang its hat on the new “Innovation Campusâ€￾ that every other major university has had for 20-30 years now.

In the “rich historyâ€￾ section he forgot to mention that their AAU membership is history.

Went to the UNL homepage and really wasn’t surprised to see them integrate the athletic conference logo into just about every academic venture on the front page. University of Nebraska-Lincoln: Where we derive academic merit from the teams we play football against on Saturday.

Last summer I was in Omaha and I started talking college football with the office manager I wa dealing with. He started pretending he didn't know anything about the Big Ten, as if such knowledge was beneath a great and mighty Fusker fan.

First he asked me where Iowa played. I told him in a stadium.

TuThem he asked me if Northern Iowa and Northern Illinois were in the Big Ten. I told him that I had always heard that Nubraska fans were knowledge about football but I had obviously gotten some bad information on that and that he would soon learn who was in the Big Ten and where they are located on those long, silent trips back home.

I haven't talked to him since but I know he was planning on going to their games against Wiscy and Michigan. I like to think that he thought of what I told him on those long, silent trips back home.
