Hankins injury?? Linebackers

I heard on radio yesterday he has a hand in a cast but was available. It is good it isnt a leg injury that might take awhile.

Anyone know more about his injury?

If he can come back for the IU game this week and maybe have Brents (sp) or Moss available. I hear Ojemudia has a leg issue but he could have played and maybe did get a few plays.

I will be great to have Hankins back I think as I feel he was doing a pretty good job ( or teams were just picking on Ojemudia).

Let's say Hockaday cant play and Jones is out the first half. What linebackers do we have to play where and another starting Lbkr is probably still out.?

Colbert was in on 8 tackles I believe.

I'd be surprised if KF lets him play in a cast. Not when there are other DBs on the roster. Even far less capable ones. And I would support that decision. Not sure about MLB. Probably play Doyle in the first half or maybe switch an OLB to the middle. They could also play 2 LBs and add an extra SS to the mix. Indiana is gonna sling the ball all over the place.

That's what I would do, especially against Indiana. Bring a safety or hybrid DB down.
As long as they know the responsibility of the position, I can't see how that is a bad idea.

Agreed. I don't think we'll get KF to abandon the base D, however. I expect to see 3 LBs out there on Sat.

Somewhat related...I'm not sure I've ever seen as much nickel personnel (with Hooker at the slot CB) and 2 LB's out of an Iowa defense than I saw in that Minnesota game. I feel like there were a ton of snaps with Hooker in the slot with Colbert and Jones in the 2 LB slots. Most of this obviously took place after Hockaday's injury, which I why I feel it's somewhat related to the injuries.
