His current status is "and another one"
That doesn't sound too promising...hopefully we get confirmation from KF today.

Pretty strong talk from media that it is an ACL tear. If that IS the case, it is very sad and I feel for the kid. I don't think we see Hampton play again. He would be 2 years behind Robinson in game condition and health wise pretty fragile. At this point we need to pull the redshirt off Johnson or Coker and start getting them ready. Hampton is out of the picture as far as I'm concerned now. We cannot ride Robinson and Paki all year and expect to win 9-10 games. We become one dimensional (like Arizona game). Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know 2004 this was a similar situation but that O-line was a little better too. Teams will put 8-9 in the box ALL year if Robinson/Paki are our 1-2 punch. This stinks but time to move on without Hampton. Hampton reminds me of Jermelle Lewis, lots of talent but never healthy to display it.

I am SOOOOO scared that Paki is going to get a longer leash than he should get. I love the guy, great Hawkeye, but he is NOT going to get it done in the B10. Time for one of the freshman to step it up and be a solid #2.
And for the record- Wegher, you are really missing out on this one.

I don't see why teams would be more inclined to stack the box with Robinson and Paki being 1-2.

I also don't think you write off Jewel, it's an injury to the other knee, he's obviously done for this season but no reason he wouldn't be strong for next year. ACL's injuries are not a sign of fagility, it's a somewhat freak thing.

IMO, regaurdless if Iowa had JH or not, they will stack the box unti Iowa comes up with a game plan to torch teams if they do that.

This sucks. Hampton to me clearly is the best RB on this team. The dude is very quick and can stop and change direction on a dime.

Hampton did a good job in pass protection, at least from what I can remember. I think with a struggling OL, he would be absolutely necessary to have in.

Paki is a great team player but not a B10 running back.

I like Johnson's style more than Coker's as a compliment to Adam. Of course the coaches will put in the player that's the most ready to contribute.

I'm not saying because he has had two ACL injuries he is done (example, 49ers Frank Gore) but maybe at Iowa he is. He will now be 2 seasons removed of game experience plus another rehab. Robinson may not be the better of the two but will have much more experience plus you throw in Wegher (IF he comes back), Coker next season, Johnson and Melvin Gordon...Hampton has a TON of work to do. I'm not even taking account the psycohlogical damage this can do on an athlete.

I sure hope Wegher finds a way to come back next year. IMHO, he is the best of the three RBs and the most durable. Anyone who disagrees with that can munch on a rotten egg. As we've seen in Iowa City, a seemingly well-stocked RB cupboard can empty out pretty quickly. We need BW.

And I think the go with A-Rob and Paki the rest of the way. Can you imagine Paki playing against Ohio State if A-Rob is injured?!!

I would not write off Hampton at all. If he is determined to come back from this like he did from last year's knee injury, he can play next year. Kirk has said time and again that players come back from injuries like this with their knees in better condition and stronger than they were before the injury.

It does suck for him..the mental part of this is just a killer. Jermelle Lewis went through the same thing.
