Couple thoughts from tonight's game. This game was almost unwatchable due to the hand checking rules.
Once again the the starting group struggled with Clemmons at the 2. Clemmons played awful which doesn't really concern me at this point, he will be fine. MG did a good job passing the ball but didn't shoot many threes and dribbled himself in to trouble as he has done his entire career. He needs to hunt his shot from behind the arc to help our spacing. Woody was pretty non existent but didn't do anything dumb. JU was solid and jok was stroking it before he went down with an injury. We could really struggle if Jok is out for a while.
The bench didn't show me much outside of Wagner who had about 8 boards in 8 minutes when Fran finally subbed him in. It appears Fran is going with Ellingson over Fleming for the time being. I'm not certain that the added weight will help uhl this year but I really think he would play with more confidence in a starting role. In my opinion the bench could really be a weakness of this team. Overall, I didn't think this looked like a very good team and certainly not what I was expecting, however it is still early and there is plenty of time to improve.
