Gunner Kiel picks Indiana

In one of the stunning recruiting decisions of the past few years, the nation's top ranked QB has chosen to stay at home (he's from Indianapolis) and go to Indiana, where he will compete with one of his older brothers for playing time. Iowa was on him early, but he never really tipped his hand too much about where he was leaning. That made today's decision even more surprising. Great pick up for the Hoosiers.

Kevin Wilson is an elite recruiter. He will make the Hoosiers a contender in their division in 3 years (Kiel's sophomore season).

It is not possible to turn Indiana football into a winner, particularly in a division with Wisconsin, Penn State, and Ohio State.

They will be lucky to reach McCarney-era Iowa State status.

The guy might be able to recruit and coach O, but IU has had that for at least a decade now. Their defense, meanwhile, will continue to be a mess.

They should have went with KOK.

I'll do my best Steve Deace impersonation:

Indiana will be the 2014 BCS champion.

That's a nice try, but it should look more like this:

After leading IU to the 2014 BCS championship, coach Kevin Wilson, on advice from his good friend Bob Stoops, becomes the new head coach at the University of Iowa, after Kirk Ferentz is forced to step down amid intense media scrutiny over a burgeoning parking ticket scandal involving several Iowa players.

Yep, that's better. And then Lane Kiffin will be hired by Indiana. ;)
