Gronkowski on the 100,000 Pyramid Game Show

Did any of you catch this Sunday night when Rob Gronkowski was on as a guest? My gawd did he come off as a dumb as a box of rocks, it's was comical listening to him. Cheetah was a word and the guest contestant described it to Gronk as a sprinting African animal with spots. Gronks answer "a Tiger" His partner said it's of Cheetos fame and Gronk still couldn't figure it out!!

Next question for Gronk: The Continent where the Nile runs, Gronks answer "Egypt!"

Another question: a Animal with humps on it's back. Gronks answer "a canoe!"

On the show you can't rhyme words to help, so unicorn was a word and Gronk goes "it rhymes with porn"

I was just sitting there watching his performance, shaking my head and asking if he actually was awarded with a college degree from the University of Arizona. I like Gronk as a person and football player, but he came off as very dense on that game show.

Such a classic quote. A notion shared by many young college students, but most of whom feel like they need the degree more than Jones did.

I am sure most of these people (including Jones) feel a lot different 10 years later as they realize there was a great opportunity before them.

I would probably answer Egypt on that question too in the heat of the moment.

Definitely the least embarrassing of his answers. He had the concept...people generally associate the Nile with Egypt even though it runs through Sudan as well.

Gronk's probably actually somewhat intelligent. I'm pretty sure half of his schtick is just an act because he wants to have a movie/sports entertainment career like The Rock, but he can't act like some pencil necked poindexter and hit the niche that he is trying to hit.

John Thompson, the former Georgetown basketball coach, was famous for tossing a flat basketball at recruits in his office and saying, "What's your plan for when that happens?"

Gotta like that. Wish more coaches took that approach.

I would have to agree with you. Gronk isn’t Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, but he’s definitely playing a character. You don’t achieve at a high level as a tight end in the NFL without some brain cells. The guy wants to make money off the character he plays, and I respect that. He already has made millions in commercials and endorsements. Not a lot of other TEs have achieved his marketing success.

Kind of an interesting cultural question to ask is what would happen if instead of talking about letting kids leave school early etc. What if a rule was instituted by the NFL where they would require a college degree. How do you think that would impact society and do you feel there would be less of some of the issues we see with some of the NFL players of today. I know it would never happen but it would be interesting
