Gritty Win for this young club. I was in the lower level corner where JBo hit the 3. Amazing.
What was impressive to me is we weren't even at our best. 19 turnovers and several missed layups from what I remember. Some timid play out of some of our younger guys, which isn't surprising in a tough road environment. Even when Iowa was struggling to score in the 2H, they never let UW deliver the knockout blow. Finally with a few minutes left they decided to let it loose, and play like a team with nothing to lose. Awesome comeback.
This team is coming together. Cook is emerging as a star. JBo is fearless. Pemsl & Baer are high energy guys with talent off the bench. I still think Moss can give us something. As others have mentioned, if we had a healthy Jok this team could be very good. 11 guys contributed last night.
I don't think we will see a defense as "tough" (imo illegal) as UW's was last night, the rest of the way. The Penn State game might be one of those grind it out types at Carver (See Rutgers & Neb) but we just have to find a way to win heading to DC. Go Hawks!
