Gregg Williams is Crazy

wow, that ain't right. I mean you hit as hard as you can, but to aim for the head (of someone who had a recent concussion) and an ACL?

"Kill the head and the body dies" ?? I'd like to believe he means kill the spirit/mental toughness of the player and the body gives up, but I can't when he talks about concussions and ACLs.

And I agree with OP, no way in h-e-double-hockey-sticks he coaches in NFL ever again.

According to another independent filmmaker that was in lockerroom at the same time, these lines were taken way out of context. He was on Dan Patrick this morning and basically refuted everything that BSPN is reporting. Just like the mothership to throw out sensational headlines.

Since you've obviously listened to the speech, I would like to know what other context you could possibly put those quotes in? Unless he started his speech with "Hey guys here's what I don't want you to do", I'm pretty sure they were taken in the correct context.

Did you listen to the bigger clip where its not taken out of context? Because it comes off exactly the same way as the clip in the article. This clip didn't do justice to the whole unedited audio.
He started out with the metaphor but quickly turned to calling out specific injuries to exploit.
No respect for any of the Saints staff from me. Also the video shows Williams rubbing his fingers together in the air when mentioning going after the players. He said that he had "the first one" when talking about getting a 49er, implying he was paying the first bounty.

players remember this and i think there will be a lot of bullentin boards filled with name that will be highlighted that participated in the bounty collecting.

I agree. I don't think there is any taking this out of context. Unless Williams prefaced the speach by saying, "This is all a joke and I am just saying it for the cameras in here." If he said that then yes its taken out of context, but I don't think he did.
He is done in the NFL for sure. The ACL thing was bad, so was the going after the guy with concussions. This is terrible.

I think some of you would be shocked what comes out coaches' mouth(s) behind close doors. Going after Crabtree's ACL is a bit much, but the rest of it isn't. Bet money he is coaching in 2 or 3 years. He runs a aggressive defense guys like playing for him. Countless players have been forgiven, I think he will be, too.

There was no question the saints were trying to take Favre out in the NFC championship game, a few years back. The head and knee shots continued the entire game, little did we know G Willy was putting money behind those cheap shots. I wonder what the speech was like before that game, Favre was still an iron man at that point.

I have to disagree. I would be shocked if Williams ever coaches anything again in the NFL. Goodell will come down with an iron fist on Williams, and while he may never officially say that Williams is banned for life, you can pretty much be assured that behind closed doors there will be an agreement by all owners not to hire him.
