I just got home from the game. Boy, was it fricking hot! Saw a large number of people being treated for heat exposure. CJ is the right choice for QB, we look so much better with him and the entire offense looks more confident with him as the leader. He has such great arm strength and is very accurate. He is so much smoother that Jake. Daniels and Canzeri make a great one - two punch at RB, they ran really hard today. The O tackles seemed okay to me, I know there was a lot of negative talk about them. Drew Ott was a beast, he blew up his man. He's got 1st team All Big all over him. The entire d-line looks solid, I liked seeing former Cedar Rapids Xavier Saint Matt Nelson get in at defensive end. He's like 6'8 270 pounds. Did any one see #44/LB puke 3 straight times on the field in the 1st half. Every time it was water coming up. The play calling was more exciting as well, not your typical Ferentz game plan. I loved it when we did the fake punt, failed to get the first down and the fans went nuts, standing up and applauding the call. I know it's only one game, but this team looks sooooo much better and confident than last years team.

Shhhhhhh. Let's don't jinx them. Great day for tailgating and watching our Hawkeyes. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a good season. Congrats to the players and coaches. It's time to focus on our next opponent and we know who that is.Go Hawks

Great game...but listening to Matt Millen is brutal. How many times can you say, "this is what Iowa should do against an FSC team." Agreed Matt...you made the point...now stop belaboring it. Man...he's brutal. He must have said that 15 times.
Teams like NDSU, Ill State, or FSC teams at the top of that league give the big conferences fits...especially Sr dominated FSC teams at the top. I thought it was interesting that there are only two or three Big Five conference teams that have lost twice to FSC teams since 2010...Iowa State was one them. God we better beat those guys next week.

This team looked like it had a purpose, love the way they came out and just took over the game. CJ definitely adds something, not just a stronger arm, to the offense.
