Great finishes after early losses.

Iowa can do it again, history shows us that it is very possible.

1982 2-2 start, finished 8-4 and won the Peach Bowl.

1987 3-2 start, finished 9-3 and won the Holiday Bowl.

1996, upset early by Tulsa, finished 9-3 and won the Alamo Bowl.

2004 started 2-2, finished 10-2 won the Capital One Bowl.

2008 started 3-3, finished 9-4 and won the outback bowl.

They did it, this team can too. They have all the pieces, and I think they will put them all together. They have a great qb, 2 good running backs, an experienced defense, exceptional special team play etc etc. It's time for another big finish!

Not going to happen. The 2008 team was loaded with pro-players. How they lost that many games is shocking.

We have yet to play a single quality team but they are coming soon. The question is do we get to 5 or 6 wins.

You don't know that, this team might also have a lot of players that make it to the pros. If you look back some people probably doughted many of those teams the same way you are doubting this team. On the other hand I choose to support this team and believe in them. I know what this program is capable of as I have seen it have success before when people did not think they would.

I like your optimism but..
This team is dreadfully slow. No deep threat. Plodding linebackers trying to cover slot receivers. Our front 7 is as slow as any in college football. Couple that with the archaic coaching philosophy and it sure looks like a tough road to hoe. Hopefully I am wrong..

I would take this year's team speed ahead of the 1987 team speed. They finished 9-3, if they can do it so can this team.

It is possible but not without personnel changes. The best teams on our schedule are yet to play. Purdue is the only team left on our schedule that we will "out talent" on the field. We are going to have to rely on superior coaching to achieve your lofty goals for the remainder of this season. (sarcasm)

You may be onto something. The Iowa coaches prepare players to perform their best and work together more than any other team. How else could they beat Michigan in 2003 with a depleted group of receivers? That has helped him eard Big 10 coach of the year 4 times. Isn't it just him, Woody and Bo who have managed to do that?

This team is no where near as talented as you think it is. There's 5 guys max on both sides of the ball with pro-potential and 5 is a super reach. The 2008 team had something like 8 pro players on D alone.

We lack team speed big time on D and the OLine is pathetically slow and soft. When Bo Bower is a staring LB you have major, major talent issues.

NW was beaten by a MAC and FCS team and had not scored more than 24 points in a single game this season and put up 38 points on us. They scored 7 freaking points on an FCS team! Their QB had been awful and looked like Peyton Manning. That's a yo!

And you think this team is going to make hay against the toughest opponents on the schedule coming up. Good for you and glad this program will decide to start playing the real season now.

#1, there is no way of knowing now who is going pro, especially among the underclassmen.

#2 A lot of good college players have not gone pro.

#3 nothing this year is as bad as that Tulsa game in 96. They still went 9-3.
