Grad Transfer Punter Michael Sleep-Dalton Commits to Iowa

With a new punter now in place, any chance that maybe Brian Ferentz decides to just punt on 3rd down?

This is a big add to our program.
 
If he can avg 42 yards with enough hang time or better rugby results then that has to help. If he can do a great job of dropping them inside the 15 yd line even better.

Maybe it was mentioned in the other thread, but you got wonder if there is some hidden reason why would a 2-year starter at ASU need to transfer anywhere? Why not just stay at ASU for his last year of elligibility?

But in the end I guess it does not matter what his motives are. I should just be happy he chose Iowa for his grad school education.

I think he might have actually said he wanted to learn how to punt in colder weather.
 
Now is where Kirk's relationship with the university hospitals pays off. We're going to (re)construct a good punter using parts from three bad ones. ;)

On a more serious note, I think they are making the best of a bad situation and hoping there is some room for improvement in this new fellow.

ASU brought in Michael Turk, son of long-time NFL punter Matt Turk, who has connection with Herm Edwards. I've heard speculation that it was going to be the young Turk's job next season so Sleep-Dalton decided to move on. Again, that's just what's I've heard.

Thanks for that little update. Now that's a lot easier to believe than him wanting to learn how to punt in cold weather.
