Good teams zero in on the opponent’s weaknesses.

A quote from Rob Howe’s article referring to Purdue. I guess Iowa is not a good team because we almost never have done this in the past 20 years. We come out and blindly play the same offense and defense regardless of the opponent. We almost never “exploit” anything. Even announcers comment on it regularly. You know exactly what is coming on both sides of the ball.

Iowa plays base D which has a passing QB salivating. He studies Iowa during the week and low and behold he doesn't get even one surprise. Pitch and catch all day long. Iowa loses because the best defensive player on the team only plays half the downs. Iowa loses because OL U sucks. Iowa loses because Ferentz recruits the low hanging fruit. IOWA loses because they annoint an inexperianced OC who still coaches like it was 1990. Iowa will never win the Big games until a complete overhaul of thier game philosophy. Never going to happen as long as it's Ferentz U.
